The Founding of Anna's Light Welcome

The founding of Anna's Light is dedicated to Anna Wheeler, whose joy, kindness, and love for people shine in the lives of all who know and love her. We have been blessed with a softball family and community that has always shown encouragement, friendship, and love.

It is our hope to return that same spirit of support by helping create opportunity for girls to participate in youth sports and by recognizing young athletes as they begin the next stage of their lives. Through scholarships, equipment drives, support for leagues and schools, and future grants, Anna's Light Foundation hopes to invest in both our young athletes and the communities that supports them.

With the support of our community, we hope to grow these programs and create new opportunities for athletes and students in the years ahead.

Help Share Anna's Light

Announcing Support Programs

Inaugural Anna's Light Scholarship

Awarded in honor of Anna Wheeler to a Benton High school graduating senior who is known for sharing happiness and joy with others. Participation in athletics is not required. (Applications open 4/1/2026)

Inaugural Pat Defee Legacy Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior from Northwest Louisiana who played softball and carries forward the character, sportsmanship, and love for the game that Coach Pat Defee shared. (Applications open 4/1/2026)

Equipment Donations

We welcome donations of new or gently used softball equipment including gloves, bats, helmets, bags, and other gear. Items will be shared with local players, leagues, and school programs.

Financial Assistance

As support for Anna's Light grows, we hope to assist local leagues and schools through financial assistance for fees and program costs.
